St.Johns Depot Railroad Days

The 2nd annual St. Johns Railroad Days will be held at the site of the historic Grand Trunk Depot in St. Johns Michigan,
Saturday August 11th and Sunday August 12th from 10am until 6pm.
The Depot will be filled with all different scale model trains for young and old alike to play with. Yes, anyone can touch these trains and have fun.

You will be able to tour our 1926 Ann Arbor Crew Car, and our 1903 Barney and Smith Railroad Post Office Car. Our 1902 Barney and Smith sleeper car is currently off site, but still available for a tour. There will be lots of historic RR memorabilia to see, and souvenirs to take home with you.
New this year will be a Vintage Railroad Pocket Watch Vendor. Watches just like they used to use! And, a vendor who makes wooden trains.
Contact Elaine at 989 224 2429 if you would like to be vendor.

Admission will be $2.00 for an individual, or $5.00 for a family. Passes will be good for both days of our event. All proceeds go towards the restoration of our vintage railroad cars.

The St. Johns Railroad Days is part of the “Planes, Trains, and Automobiles” show (Saturday only). Within walking distance of our depot, you will find a classic car show, a show of model RC airplanes, our Veterans Memorial, a display of old military vehicles, and a Black Hawk helicopter.

We will have our famous Mint Chocolate Chip Ice cream made with locally grown mint from the Crosby Mint Farm located at 1250 E. Parks Rd., St. Johns. Please visit their website if you would like to make arrangements for a tour. We will have maps available. There are several other restaurants and bars within walking distance of the depot, not to mention food venders on the streets.

Since St. Johns is the “Mint City”, the St. Johns Mint Festival is also going on the same weekend. For more information please visit our Chamber of Commerce website at
