Bringing Home an Undercarriage for the Sault Ste. Marie

With the prospect of acquiring key pieces to an undercarriage needed for the Sault Ste. Marie, Jenny and Gary McCampbell, along with Mark and Dan Kalis took about a 7-hour trip from the Lansing area to Mid-Continent Railway (MCR) in center-west Wisconsin on January 19-21.

MCR had what was needed from a car they had scrapped: two 110 year-old steel bolsters, 10 x 15 feet, to go under each end of the railcar. These included 2 crossbars per bolster.

Connections of St. Johns Depot with the Military

Clinton Northern Railway Museum at the St. Johns Depot will host a celebration of our men and women who have served or are currently serving in the armed forces on Sunday, May 22, during its regular open hours: 1 – 3 PM. This is in recognition of Armed Forces Day on Saturday, May 21 and Memorial Day on Monday, May 30.

A 3-D puzzle of Elvis Presley… a set of American Girl crafts and fun… and maple syrup from Livingston Farms are just a few of the many items that will be available for bidding on at the Silent Auction on Wednesday, August 26 starting at 6:00 PM in the St. Johns City Park Pavilion. This will be just before this season’s final Concert in the Park, featuring Matt King as Elvis – a hit every year!
